Relocation & Visitors
In the late 1800’s rich farmland and timber drew pioneers to Cairo and Grady County. Today the same land draws people to the region for the scenic countryside, small town atmosphere and a cherished quality of life.
Our community offers a rich quality of life with quiet neighborhoods, fresh air, natural scenic beauty, exciting cultural activities, an outstanding library and a strong network of people who appreciate the importance of taking care of their community, natural environment and each other.
Major national and international corporations have already located facilities in our community. Today’s success can be traced to several factors including excellent educational facilities, modern transportation infrastructure, location near the Tallahassee, Florida metropolitan area, a skilled labor pool and others. Community services are modern and comprehensive, yet property tax rates remain low.
With all it has to offer, the Cairo/Grady County area remains a friendly place with a small-town character. It continues to value its traditions and cherish its slower pace. We love parades and community revivals, high school sports teams and summer picnics. Urban planners call this “livability”. Longtime residents just call it “home”.
